The Perry junior varsity blew open a five-point game at the half to score a 46-8 win over Saydel at Dewey Field Sept. 23.

Perry held a 13-8 lead at the intermission and 20-8 after three quarters before finding the end zone four times in the fourth quarter for the landslide win.

Eli Saemisch scored on an 11-yard run in the first quarter and a three-yard plunge in the second to give the hosts a 13-0 lead.

The Eagles scored on a 15-yard pass with one minute left in the half and added the two-point conversion to close to within 13-8, but Perry went ahead 20-8 in the third quarter when Kade VanKirk fell on a Saydel fumble in the end zone, with Garcia adding the PAT.

Keegan Wolfe caught a 5-yard TD pass from Alex Long for a 27-8 lead, with Bradley Godwin returning an interception 28 yards for a score as the margin swelled to 33-8 in the final frame.

Adam Medina scored on a 14-yard run for a 40-8 Perry lead, with Ivan Garcia returning a fumble 39 yards for a TD to cap the scoring. Garcia was successful on 4-of-7 extra-point kicks in the victory.
