All three levels of the Perry eighth grade volleyball team battled Bondurant-Farrar Oct. 17 in their respective season finales.

The A unit fell, 21-6, 22-20 and 21-15. Alyssa Kruger was 12-of-13 serving, with Caley Hager playing well at the net while Johanna Diw had a strong match setting the ball and Sidney Vancil played strong defense.

The B team split, losing game one 21-7 but responding with a 21-10 win in the second of two games. Taylor Devilbiss served 7-of-8, with Breanna Ackerman providing several digs.

B-F was a 21-12, 22-20 winner over the Perry C team, which was led in serving by Selena Garcia.

Perry faced Winterset Oct. 15, with the A team winning game one, 21-18, before dropping 21-10 and 15-3 decisions. Vancil led the team in serving at 12-of-16.

The Jayette B unit fell by margins of 23-21 and 21-7, with Hannah York noted for strong blocking at the net.

Winterset topped the Perry C squad, 21-10 and 21-15 in their battles. Devilbiss had several blocks for Perry.

The Perry A team fell, 2-1, in Ballard Oct. 10, winning game one 21-14 before falling, 21-15 and 15-12. Kruger was 10-of-10 serving for the Jayettes.

The B team was a 21-14 and 21-17 victor as Sadee Whitfield paced Perry by finishing 7-of-8 serving.

The C team rolled to a 21-10, 21-13, 21-15 win over Ballard as Devilbiss served 19-of-22 and Garcia 8-of-11.

The Jayettes are coached by Johanna Grieme. She noted that "All three teams had a great season. They were very dedicated to their season and showed great improvement throughout the year."
