Perry hosted Roland-Story for a boys/girls basketball set Saturday, with the hosts winning both contests.
The third-ranked Jayettes had little trouble to waltzing to a 58-24 victory while the Bluejays won their third straight by holding off the Norsemen, 60-55.
The opening game was decided in the first quarter, as Perry bolted to a 23-8 lead. By halftime the margin stood at 37-12, and although slowing down the offense, the Jayettes could not help but expand their advantage to 53-18 after three quarters.
Roland-Story became the latest team unable to slow down Perry junior Claire Marburger, who scored 26 points while grabbing seven rebounds. Along the way she became just the second player in Perry history to top the 1,000 point mark in her career (see story, page 10).
Maggie Lowe added 11 points, 10 assists and six rebounds, with Grace Marburger adding nine points and Julie Diw eight while Amy Marckres and Victoria Hegstrom had two points apiece.

The Jays led, 17-10, at the end of one period and held a 27-24 edge at the half. The visitors threatened throughout the third quarter but could never quite grab the lead as Perry entered the fourth quarter with a 39-35 advantage.
Perry slowly pulled out to a nine-point led, at 50-41, midway through the final frame. R-S closed to within five points, at 55-50, with just under two minutes remaining, but the Jays were able to hold on and claim the victory.
