WOODWARD — Visiting Panorama claimed a pair of victories over Woodward-Granger in WCC hoops action last Friday, with the Panthers winning the girls contest, 63-31, while posting a 60-35 triumph in the boys tilt.
The W-G girls fell into an almost inescapable hole when they found themselves trailing, 22-4, after one period of play. The deficit stood at 35-16 entering the intermission and the Hawks simply could not threaten from there.
Katelynn Major led W-G with 10 points, with Dalaney Bice and Abby Musser adding six points apiece while Abby Hansen tallied four points. Two points apiece from Annie Webb and Riley Jamison and a free throw from Mary Hansen capped the Hawk offense.
Jade Cunningham paced Panorama with 20 points, with Karlee Johnk adding 13 points and Olivia Godfrey 12.
The Hawk boys fell in a similar fashion, dropping into an early hole and slowly seeing their deficit widen. W-G trailed, 18-6, after one frame and 36-15 at the half, with the margin 46-27 entering the final frame.
Nick Squires had nine points for W-G, with Michael Connor contributing five points and six rebounds while Tre Loge, Alex Bodermann and Jacob Smiley provided four points apiece (the remaining W-G points not reported).
Chase Hennen’s 14 points led the Panthers.
