FORT DODGE — The swim season ended for Perry at their regional meet here Saturday.

Defending state champion Ames won the meet with an impressive 554 points, with Ankeny a distant second at 368 and Mason City third at 283. The Jayettes were eighth in the nine-team field with 89 points (more meet information listed below).

Perry was eighth in all three relays. Serenity and Shaleah Ewing teamed with Taylor Wieland and Haileigh Kenyon for the 200 medley relay, finishing in 2 minutes, 11.37 seconds, and later paired with Kenyon and Haley Vaughn for the 200 freestyle relay, which touched in 1:53.82. Wieland, Vaughn, Hailee Dencklau and Lourdes Marquez were the 400 free squad, finishing in 4:51.47.

Shaleah Ewing and Vaughn were 12-13 in the 200 individual medley in 2:32.52 and 2:34.4, respectively, with Shaleah Ewing 12th in the 100 butterfly (1:09.38) while Serenity Ewing placed 16th in the 100 backstroke (1:16.54).

Kenyon was 16th (27.19) and Serenity Ewing 20th (29.29) in the 50 free, with Kenyon 14th in the 100 free (1:00.11) while Dencklau was 17th (2:29.92) and Marquez 21st (2:44.79) in the 200 free.

Wieland was 15th in the 500 free (6:34.93), with Marquez 21st (7:03.35) in the event, with Vaughn (1:21.87), Wieland (1:26.26) and Dencklau (1:30.23) placing 15-20-25 in the 100 breaststroke.

The Jayettes will begin next season with a roster of only four swimmers as Shaleah Ewing, Wieland, Decnklau and Shannon Hellyer were all seniors
