URBANDALE — The Perry grade 8 volleyball team visited Des Moines Christian Sept. 26 for the fourth date on their schedule.

The Perry A team (6-5) finished 3-0, defeating DMC 21-19, 21-13 and 21-15. Johanna Diw was 9-of-10 serving and Sidney Vancil 10-of-14.

The B squad (3-8) won their first game, 21-17, but fell 21-16, 21-9 and 21-16 in the final three games of their match. Natalie Haynes was 8-of-11 and Anna Lansing 12-of-14.

Selena Garcia served 12-of-16 to lead the C unit (8-5) to wins of 21-19, 21-13 and 21-8.

Host ADM swept the Perry A squad, 21-12 21-2 and 15-7 Sept. 24. Vancil was 6-fo-7 behind the line with Alyssa Kruger singled out for making several strong digs.

The B team dropped their first two games, 21-13 and 21-9 before scoring a 15-8 win their third game. Sydney Guerra’s 11-of-15 serving keyed Perry.

The C team fell, 21-16, before bouncing back for wins of 21-19 and 17-15. Shay Scott served the final two points of the third game to give Perry the match victory.

The Jayette C squad played three games against the ADM ‘D’ team, winning 21-7, 21-9 and 15-4. Taylor Devilbiss was 18-of-19 serving, with Saydee Strough 9-of-12 behind the line.

Perry hosted Gilbert Sept. 19, with the A unit winning game two, 21-19, after dropping game one 21-5 and before a 15-9 loss in game two. Emily Pavelka was 7-of-9 serving for Perry.

The B squad fell, 21-17 and 21-13 while the C team lost 21-15 and 21-18. Samantha Macias led Perry with a 6-of-8 serving effort.

The Jayettes had opened their season by hosting Ogden Sept. 17. Accurate serving from Katelyn Thomason and Vancil led the A team to wins of 21-10 and 23-21.

The B squad split with the Bulldogs, winning 22-20 and falling 21-12. Sadee Whitfield was 9-of-9 serving. Garcia and Macias were both 5-of-6 serving for the C team, which fell by finals of 21-7 and 21-12.
