The Jayette netters were at Winterset on Tuesday, Oct. 2 for their latest match. The Huskies made short work of Perry and the Jayettes lost in three sets 25-4, 25-12, and 25-19.
As the margin of scores kept improving throughout the evening for this young team so did the skill level. Sophomore Kacy Nevitt came out of the match with six kills and two digs. Another underclassman, Jasmine Shriver had four digs along with senior Gabby West who also came in with three kills and two digs. Magley Orellana led the team in digs by ending the match with a total of nine.
Quinn Whiton saw one dig and two attack attempts, but no digs of her own. Mackenzie Ayers and was the other Jayette to come in with four digs while Ainsley Marburger had two assists.
Perry volleyball was not without it’s successful aces on Tuesday with one coming from Whiton.
Overall the team had a total of 10 kills, 44 attack attempts, 9 assists and 25 digs.
The Jayettes have a two day break before heading into the Jayette Volleyball Invitational at home. Their soon-to-be opponents include Ballard, Des Moines Hoover, Roland-Story, and Saydel. The tournament will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
