Perry baseball continues to show strength in various aspects of their game as proven by the last two games.
A low-scoring affair, yet exciting game, saw Perry defeat Carroll at Carroll on Friday, June 22.
Whereas most of the competition was a no-score match up, the sixth inning proved to be where the game was decided.
Alexis Garrido led off the inning with a walk to first. Garrido advanced to second base with the help of a single hit by Kaden Boyer and later ran into home with an RBI single thanks to Austin Carpenter.
Carpenter also gave his contribution to the win on the mound. Carpenter struck out eight, ultimately pitching the shutout.
On Monday, June 25 the Bluejays played another game against Carlisle at home, but ended up losing to their opponent 2-1.
Perrys lone point of Monday’s game came when Aaron Lockwood led off the second inning with a single. Lockwood was later advanced by an error, a sacrifice and a fielders choice to score his run.
Carlisle ended up scoring two runs in the first inning and three in the seventh to get the win.
Perry is now 6-7 overall and will traveling to Boundurant-Farrar to play at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27 followed by a home game against Ballard also starting at 7 p.m on Thursday, June 28.
