The Jayettes softball team was at home on Tuesday night to take on Gilbert in what was a blowout game, beating the Tigers 12-2.
Senior Alyssa Kruger pitched all six innings with two strikeouts overall. Kruger only walked one batter and gave up two earned runs.
The Perry batter that started the ever-growing score of the game was Senior Sidney Vancil who batted three for four and had two stolen bases. Kruger batted two for three, one of which was a double.
Senior Grace Stewart had the game high of five RBIs before the competition was over and batted two out of three. Eighth grader Peyton Tunink was a key to the win when she hit a triple later in the game.
Another younger member, eighth grader Jayna Kenney, showed her strength is this game by hitting a double, getting two RBIs for her team, and scoring three of her own runs to put Perry far ahead of Gilbert.
This game puts the Jayettes season record at 4-8. Their next game will be a double header at home versus A-D-M on Wednesday with the first game beginning at 5:30 p.m.
