At the Dewey Field this past Saturday, Perry’s soccer team broke even as the Bluejays (7-6) split their two matches.
On May 5, the Bluejays held strong during a tight 2-1 contested match versus the Norwalk Warriors (4-4).
Two Bluejays, senior Mickey Velasco and junior Anthony Velasco, accounted for all of Perry’s points. Sophomores Ever Tobar and Tomas Lopez each finished with an assist.
In front of the net, junior Mike Eschevarria played the entire 60 minutes, where he only allowed the one Warrior score.
It was a different narrative for the host when they faced off and were shutout against the Southeast Polk Rams (5-7).
In the 2-0 loss, the offense found it hard to get any kicks passed Rams goalie. Once again Eschevarria started and played all 60 minutes.
The squad is home this Tuesday, May 8, when they welcome in the A-D-M Tigers.
