In their latest golf outing, the Woodward Granger Hawks female golf team came away with a fourth place finish at their latest West Central Activities Conference meet.
Four W-G players, Cierra DeHoet, Aubrey Mescher, Emma Greiner, and Megan Burhart, finished their 18-hole round with a combined score of 440 at the April 30, invite.
At the Lake View Country Club, DeHoet’s final score of 97 not only led the team but landed her fourth overall.
Mescher was second on the team with a 111, followed by Greiner who finished a stroke behind with a 112. Burkhart shot a 120. Both Emily Trewet (121) and Bailey Thompson (123) participated.
First place went to the Van Meter Bulldogs with a 381. In second were the Panthers of Panorama with a 420, and the Ogden Bulldogs took third with a 425. Des Moines Christian’s 454 and Earlham’s 492 rounded out the final two spots.
The Hawks squad played to their averages April 27, when their final round of 227 placed them second in their meet at the 5x80 Golf Course near Menlo.
DeHoet’s score of 51, once again led her squad. Mescher was second with a 56, Trewet got into the moix with a 58 and Burkhart’s 62 was the final counted score. Thompson shot a 67.
With a final round of 202, the girls of CAM High School finished first. The host West Central Valley Wildcats only sent out three players, so their score was not counted.
The team hits the links this Friday, May 4, when they travel to Ogden for another WCAC showdown against the host Bulldogs and Madrid Tigers.
