At the Carlisle Relays this past Tuesday, April 24, Perry’s track & field team scored 48 points for an eighth place finish.
The host Wildcats took first with 140. In second place was Nevada with 113, followed by Norwalk with 102, and and Indianola with 70.5.
A-D-M’s 63.5, Winterset’s 55.5, and Bondurant-Farrar’s 55 finished them five, six and seven. The final four spots went to Oskaloosa with 36, Knoxville and Chariton Chargers both with 26, and Creston with 4.5.
Junior Kaleb Olejniczak was the squad’s lone first place representative when he ran a 53.08 in 400-dash. Fellow junior Reece Dunlap placed second with a time of 53.25.
The duo along with Kato Dougan, and Brandon Kenyon ran a 1:37.72, for a second place finish in the 800-medley. Kenyon also placed second when he completed the individual 80-meter run with a time of 2:05.14.
