The Perry Jayettes golf team grabbed their fourth win in five matchups at their latest showdown at the Perry Golf and Country Club.

“Nice win tonight for the girls golf team, 4-1 to start the year, so we are off to a good start,” head coach Joel Happel said.

Alyssa Kruger nabbed her second medal in as many meets when she led all players with a round of 43, at the April 10, meet.

The senior keeps padding her handicap after finishing the nine hole day with five pars, including four straight, two bogeys and two doubles.

“Hannah Roberts was second [with a] low again for the team with a 51,” Happel said. “She is getting close to putting it all together.”

After beginning with a plus five, she shot two bogeys and then two straight birdies before finishing with a par, a double, a triple and a plus four.

Teammates Delaney Eiteman finished a stroke behind Roberts with a 52, while Skylar Cunningham shot a 58.

As a team the four Jayettes combined for a 204. Des Moines Roosevelt finished second with a 221, with both Carlisle and Bondurant-Farrar each shooting a 248.

The squad is back on the course on Thursday, April 12, when they travel to Polk City for a tournament against the North Polk Comets.
