The Woodward-Granger girls’ basketball season came to a close last Saturday with a 43-37 loss at Ogden in the first round of the Class 2A Region 6 postseason play.


Against the host Bulldogs (8-14) The Hawks (4-19) hung in tough throughout the first half of the Feb. 10, showdown.


The road team seemed to have a handle on the game in the first quarter after opening up the with a 14-12 run.


They kept their lead in tact through the entire second quarter when both teams went shot-for- shot for a seven all tie before halftime.


After halftime the road team saw their two-point lead diminish to one and then to zero after the Bulldogs outscored them 12-9 to take a one point lead in the final quarter.


It was much of the same for the Hawks during the final eight minutes as they watched their host increase the lead to six with a 12-7 final run.
