This past week several Jayettes softball players were recognized by the Raccoon River Conference with a number of individual honors, for this season’s accomplishments.
Leading the Perry squad were senior Emma Olejniczak and junior Johanna Diw who were named to the first team 2017 All-Raccoon River Conference team.
Olejniczak finished her senior season with an 8-6 RRC record. She tossed 91-plus innings where she struck out a RRC-leading 131 hitters while walking just 15 and a 1.46 ERA.
Overall she went 23-11 in over 214 innings of work with a 1.11 ERA. She struck out 356 batters and walked 36.
Jayette slugger Johanna Diw finished with a batting average of .465 with a .929 slugging percentage. She tallied 13 home runs, 40 RBIs, in 59 hits with 12 doubles and four triples.
Teammate Rachel Kinney was recognized with a second team selection. At the plate she finished with a .261 average, and 10 RBIs on 12 hits including two doubles in 46 plate appearances.
Rounding out the final two spots were juniors Sidney Vancil and Alyssa Kruger who made the honorable mention list.
This season Vancil hit .347 with 17 hits and 11 RBIs. Kruger batted .268 with 11 hits including a home run with six RBIs.
