The undefeated Perry Summer Swim Team (PSST) kept their record intact with two more wins this past week for a 5-0 start.
This past Tuesday the squad headed to Lake City for an afternoon of events against the Lake City Swim Team (LCST), which culminated in a 434-151 PSST victory.
Out of 78 competitive events, PSST dominated with first place finishes in a combined 55 events - 26 girls, 29 boys.
It was a good follow up win to the team’s record breaking home victory versus Carroll on June 15.
At the McCreary Center PSST outscored their guests 338-250 for the team’s fourth win. Two Perry swimmers also made it into the record books on Thursday night.
Lilly Riley, swimming in the girls’ 9-10 age 50 freestyle event, set a new team record of 36.09 breaking the old record of 37.37, which was set almost a year ago too the day by Sophia McDevitt on 6/14/16.
McDevitt joined her fellow swimmer into the record book when she finished the girls’ 11-12 year old 100 freestyle with a record time of 1:14.14.
She beat her old time that she set back on June 6 of this year by 38 hundredths of a second. In the process she also surpassed Denison’s Jenna Currier’s time of 1:14.20, which was set last year on June 28.
It was another solid performance for both squads as they combined for 41 event wins - 22 girls and 19 boys.
PSST takes their perfect record to Denison this Thursday.
