It’s been slowly coming and finally Perry’s baseball team’s bats responded with two wins in three games.

As a squad the Bluejays’ (3-8, 2-4) offense had two solid outings on June 8 and June 6, where they outscored their opponents 24-8.

Their only loss in three games came in a close 4-3 contest on June 7, at the hands of the host fellow avians from Bondurant-Farrar (6-7, 3-2).

It was a tight game early on with Perry scoring one run in the top of the first only to have Bondurant-Farrar tie the game in the bottom half.

In the bottom of the third, the home team struck again with another run to take the one run advantage.

The game stayed close until the top of the seventh when Perry scored a run to tie the game and force extra inning play.

It looked like Perry would end the contest in ninth, as they took a 3-2 lead in the top half. That conclusion disappeared when the host scored two runs to snatch the win.

Perry bounced back the following night with a home win against Raccoon River Conference (RRC) foe the Ballard Bombers (4-10, 2-2).

Last Thursday Perry put on a hitting display with a 17-5 win and made up for getting edged out by Bondurant-Farrar.

Two days prior, Perry traveled to Greene County where they spoiled the Rams’ (4-6) night with a 7-3 victory.

After a 1-1 first inning, Perry scored four runs in the second and another two runs in the top of the fifth for the eventual win.

Perry’s squad was in Atlantic this Saturday for a matchup against the Treynor Cardinals and the Exira-EHK Spartans.
