The Perry Jayettes’ soccer team (11-5) is once again Regional-Final bound after a close 4-3 win versus the Winterset Huskies in the Class 2A Region 4 Semifinal.

At Perry on May 30, the Jayettes gave the home crowd something to cheer about with two early scores from a healthy Natalie Martinez.

Perry’s lead would not keep for long as the road team managed two scores. Perry’s Sydney Guerra then scored a goal before the half to give the home team a 3-1 lead.

After the intermission the Huskies struck first with a quick goal that knotted the game at three and making it a nail-biting affair.

The potential tie ball game ended only mere seconds later when the Jayettes responded with the eventual game winning goal.

Perry now heads to Norwalk on Monday June 5 where they take on the (13-4) Warriors for a chance to advance to state.
