The Perry boys’ soccer team is heading back to the State Tournament once again. The Perry Bluejays clinched their spot in the State Tournament with a 4-0 win over Bondurant-Farrar on Saturday, May 27.

The Bluejays won both of their Substate games by a score of 4-0 en route to the State Tournament berth.

Against B-F on Saturday, the Bluejays were led, as usual, by Jesus Rodriguez, senior. Rodriguez recorded a hat trick with three goals and one assist for a total of seven points in the contest.

Fellow senior, Brandon Juarez added a goal as well.

Junior goalkeeper Anthony Aragon played all 80 minutes for the Bluejays and was perfect. He did not need to make a single save in order to record the shutout.

The Bluejays were given the No. 3 seed in the tournament and will play the No. 6 seed, Winterset in the first round.

The Bluejays played the Huskies earlier this year and came away with a 2-1 victory.

The game between the Huskies and the Bluejays will begin at 2:35 p.m. on Thursday on Field 8 at Cownie Soccer Complex in Des Moines.

If the win, they will play again at 2:35 p.m. on Friday on Field 6 and the Championship game is on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. on Field 9. The consolation game would be at 1:40 p.m. on Field 6 on Saturday.
