After having their nine game winning streak snapped on May 15 by Des Moines Lincoln, the Bluejays’ soccer team beat out the Dutch with a 5-3 home victory.

On senior night May 18, the Bluejays (13-4) closed out their regular season with at least five goals, a feat they’ve accomplished five times this season - all wins.

Jesus Rodriguez, Perry senior, led the squad with the hat trick. His three goals put him one over for the Raccoon River Conference (RRC) lead of 22. He finished 15th overall.

Teammates Brandon Juarez and Alvaro Soto scored a goal a piece. Alexis Macias and Rodriguez each recorded an assist.

Anthony Aragon, Perry’s goalie, played in front of the net for 65 of the games’ 80 minutes. He allowed all three goals. Fellow Bluejay Alex Ortiz played the other 15 minutes.

With the regular season in the books the Bluejays had their sights set on the Class 2A Substate 7 second round matchup versus the Ballard Bombers. Perry hosted both the second round contest this Wednesday and will host the final round on May 27.
