At a 9 a.m. tee time at the Carroll Country Club the Bluejays’ golf team combined for an 18-hole round of 367 and a seventh place finish.
On Monday other teams took to the green where they competed at his season’s Raccoon River Conference Tournament.
First place with a round of 327 was Adel-DeSoto-Minburn (A-D-M). Host Carroll finished second with a 335 and Winterset was third with a 338.
Boone held on to fourth place with a 344 with Ballard in fifth place just five strokes back at 349. Fellow Bluejays from Bondurant-Farrar was sixth with a 363 and in the final spot with a 425 was Carlisle.
Noah Wilkening, Perry senior, individually finished fifth overall with a round of 81. For the tournament he recorded a birdie, seven pars, nine bogeys and a double bogey.
Teammate Connor Nielsen was second on the team with a 92, placing him 30th overall. Dan McCarty contributed a 96 with the final Perry score coming from Tanner Duffy’s 96.
It was the second time in four days that Perry watched A-D-M capture another first place finish.
Last Thursday May 4, Perry traveled to Adel for a one on one conference bout versus their ADM rivals.
Once again Perry fell short - 18 strokes - with a combined 9-hole round score of 183. Wilkening kept his squad’s hope alive with a score of 41 and medalist runner up honors.
This time McCarty finished second on the team only one stroke behind Wilkening with a 42. Duffy shot a 49 while Nielsen rounded it out with a 51.
