Only 13 strokes separated the Perry Jayettes’ golf team from the Raccoon River Conference Tournament winners. the Carroll Tigers.


On May 8, at the River Valley Golf Course the Jayettes’ trio of Alyssa Kruger, Brooke Huntington and Sarah Sweet earned All-Conference Medals, which led their team to a second place finish.


The three golfers along with Skylar Cunningham combined for an 18-hole round of 390. Other Perry participants were Delaney Eiteman and Madyson Hill.


Individually Kruger finished second overall with a 90. She shot a 48 in the front and finished off the back nine with a 42.


Huntington finished three strokes back with a 93 for fourth overall while Sweet’s score of 95 placed her sixth.


The host A.D.M Tigers finished third with a 427 followed by the Ballard Bomber’s 439. In fifth was the Carlisle Wildcats with a 447, sixth was the Winterset Huskies’ 492, and the Bondurant-Farrar Lady Jays placed seventh with a 523.


It was the second time in less than a week that the Jayettes missed out on finishing first. Last Thursday May 4, Perry fell to the Ogden Bulldogs by just a mere stroke at 204 to 205. ADM finished third with a round of 215.


At the Perry Golf and Country Club the two teams along with conference foe ADM battled it out for the top prize.


Kruger led all individual scorers with a 9-hole round of 44, for medalist honors. Huntington finished with a 49, while both Cunningham and Sweet finished tied with a 56. Hill shot a 57 and Eiteman finished with a 61.
