Noah Wilkening, Bluejays senior, led his squad with a medal win at this season’s Witmer-Dunphy Invitational this Monday at the Perry Golf and Country Club.
Wilkening finished this 9-hole Co-Ed tournament with a round of 37, which was two strokes better than Gilbert’s Tommy Doyle.
For the round, Wilkening finished with three birdies, four pars and just two double bogeys on the second and fourth holes.
The Bluejays other three players Dane McCarty, Connor Nielsen and Tanner Duffy contributed the remaining score of 144 of the team’s 187.
McCarty fell 10 strokes back of Wilkening with a 47 while Nielsen’s 48 notched him third on the team. Duffy and Gabe Ridnour each finished with a 49 with Duffy’s score accounting for the final tally.
Four Jayettes combined for a round of 204, which coupled with the Bluejays score gave Perry a final total of 385.
Perry’s Co-Ed score landed them in second and almost 50 strokes behind the first place winners the Gilbert Tigers with a score of 338 - 163 boys and 175 girls.
The West Central Valley Wildcats fell to third place with a Co-Ed score of 469 - 207 boys and 262 girls.
On April 27, the Jayettes travel to Woodward for a match versus the Hawks. The Bluejays do not hit the links again until May 2, when they travel to Ogden.
