Perry’s track and field team never strayed to far behind while at the same time built some distance to finish in sixth place with 51 points at the Wildcat Relays.

In Carlisle on Tuesday, the Bluejays staved off placing in the bottom half finishing just eight points from third place finishers the Tigers of ADM.

First place went to the Indianola Indians with 130 points with second place host Carlisle recording 105.50. Nevada H.S. placed fourth with 58 points and the Ballard Bombers tallied 51.50 for fifth place.

Reece Dunlap, Perry, led the squad in top three finishes recording a first place finish in the 200-meter dash and two third place finishes in the 100 and 400-meter dash.

Fellow Bluejay Brandon Kenyon recorded the team’s other third place finish in the 800-meter run.

As a team the Bluejays 800-sprint medley team earned first place with the 4x400 team finishing second.

The final seventh through 15 spots went to Oskaloosa (50), Winterset (49), Bondurant-Farrar (46), Knoxville (45), Norwalk (40), Chariton (21), Ames (16), Carlisle B team (14) and Indianola JV (5).
