It has been about 10 days since the Perry Jayettes’ (6-1) soccer team have allowed their opponents a small taste at a goal.

On Monday the Jayettes not only recorded their fourth straight victory - six of their first seven - but in their 2-0 win against the visiting Des Moines Christian Lions (2-4), they recorded their fourth straight shutout this season - five in their first seven.

It was the same outcome just four days ago when the home team kept the Boone Toreadors away from the nets in another 2-0 win.

Salena Garcia, Perry junior, played all 80 minutes in front of the net where she was a perfect 7-for-7 on save opportunities.

Esveidy Hernandez, freshman, and Jaelyn Waddle, sophomore, were responsible for all of the goals as the pair accounted for a goal each.

Up next the Jayettes hit the road on April 28 when they travel to Newton for a showdown with the Cardinals.

Game and Individual stats for the Lions vs Jayette game will be updated as it becomes available.
