For the second time in less than two weeks the Perry Bluejays (7-3) soccer team blanked their opposition while scoring half a dozen goals for the team’s fourth straight win this season.

At Boone against the Toreadors (3-7) on April 20, the Bluejays trio of goalies combined for 80 minutes of scoreless goals with the offense accounting for six goals in the 6-0 victory.

Anthony Aragon of Perry contributed the most minutes in front of the net. In 60 minutes he kept the Toreadors from coming close to the net.

Perry goalies Alex Ortiz and Cori Alamina accounted for the other 20 minutes. Ortiz kept the the shutout going in his 15 minutes of action with Alamina preserving for the final five minutes.

Jesus Rodriguez, Bluejays’ senior, added two goals bringing his Raccoon River Conference lead to 11, which tied Winterset’s Gavin Nevshemal. He also finished with six points after recording two assists.

Rodriguez’s teammates Brandon Juarez, Moses Tellez, Ever Tobar, and Mickey Velasco scored a goal each. Velasco, Tellez along with German Alvarenga, Elmer Garcia, and Alexis Macias each finished with an assist.

Next stop for Perry will be at Indianola for a matchup versus the Indians on April 27.
