At the Ogden Track and Field Relays the Woodward-Granger Hawks girls earned 39 points to finish in a sixth-place tie with Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawks.

The Gilbert Tigers took first place with 180 points while the Madrid Tigers finished second with 140. Host Ogden were third with 75, the Ballard Bombers placed fourth with 60 and in fifth was Martensdale St. Marys with 54.

On April 13 the two Emmas’, Drake and Buckman, along with the 1600-meter team of Drake, Kaitlyn Peters, Kaitlyn Bandstra and Anna Tague recorded two third and one second-place finish.

In the 800 meter run, Drake finished a little over a second under second place with a time of 2:37.46.

Buckman launched herself into third place in the discus competition with a toss that measured 101.06.50 only about two feet behind second place.

In the 1600-distance medley relay the Hawks snatched second place away from Madrid with a combined run of 4:42.38 to Madrid’s 4:43.74.

The team along with the boys team travels to Southeast Valley H.S. on April 18 for a showdown with host the Jaguars.
