It was a solid outing for the Perry Bluejay team as they finished tied for third place with 89 team points at the Carroll Co-Ed Invitational.
Also tied for third place with 89 points was Maple Valley A-O. First place honors went to the host Carroll Tigers and IKM-Manning with 126 points.
The Woodward-Granger Hawks stood alone in fourth place with 83 points and finishing sixth was The Greene County Rams with 68 points.
Three Bluejays finished the evening accounting for four top three finishes and as a team Perry recorded five top three finishes.
Perry’s Reece Dunlap and Brandon Kenyon earned top spots in their respective events. Dunlap ran a 23.26 in the 200-meter dash. A few steps behind was teammate Adan Medina who finished second with a 23.92.
Dunlap, in the 100-meter dash, finished third with a time of 11.80 just 35-hundredths of a second behind first place.
In the 800-meter run, Kenyon blew by his competition with a time of 2:09.26, an over four second difference to the next finisher. Zach Stewart, Perry, placed fourth with a 2:17.93.
As a team dominated the 1600-distance medley relay, the 4x400 and 4x800-meter relays.
In the 4x400, Dunlap, Thompson, Rashon Ivory and Kaleb Olejniczak recorded a first place time of 3:37.11.
Ivory along with Kenyon, Medina and Alexis Garrido dominated the field in the 4x800 with a first place finish after a 8:58.60 run.
In the 1600, Mana Martinez, Nic Fellom, Thompson and Zach Stewart ran a first place time of 4:04.23.
Martinez, Fellom, Olejniczak, and Justin Stammer finished third in the 800-meter sprint medley relay with a 1:43.69. That same group placed third in the 4x200-medley relay with a time of 1:40.52.
The Bluejays are back on the track this Thursday when they host the Kaufman Invitational.
