The Perry Bluejays soccer team’s scoring display subdued the host Wildcats early and sent the road team home with their fourth win in five games.


Last Thursday, the Bluejays (4-1, 2-0) traveled Carlisle for a Raccoon River Conference showdown against the winless Wildcats (0-3, 0-1).


The Bluejays legged out six goals in 90 minutes against Carlisle goalie, sophomore Aaron Dykstra.


It wasn’t all offense as the defense did their part to preserve the overwhelming victory, allowing just two shots on goal in a 6-0 victory.


The Bluejays put on a scoring display against the Wildcats as they legged multiple goals while shutting out the opposition in a 6-0 victory.


Guarding the net were German Alvarenga, junior, and Alex Ortiz, senior, who combined for 80 minutes of defensive perfection.


Rodriguez led the squad with two goals an assist and five points. Seniors Alex Castenada, Elmer Garcia, Alexis Macias, and junior Mickey Velasco each finished with a goal.
