The Woodward-Granger Hawks (9-11,7-11) boys’ basketball team’s first quarter run set the pace for their 58-35 home win versus West Central Conference foe the AC/GC Chargers (3-17, 3-14).
On Tuesday during senior night the Hawks opened up the first quarter on an 11-2 run and never looked back.
Bodie Harrison, Hawks senior, did not leave anything on the floor. He had one of his best games of the season finishing with 20 points on 7-of-9 shooting including 6-of-8 from beyond the arc.
Fellow senior Marcus McConahay had another solid night with 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting and 1-of-five from three. He also nabbed a team leading eight rebounds - five defensive, three offensive and eight steals.
In the second quarter, the game played out a lot closer with the Chargers seemingly a little more energized scoring 15 points but the Hawks answered back with 17.
After the half, the home team wasted little time putting the game away. They opened up they finished the third on a 16-5 run and capped off the fourth 14-13.
The Hawks finished 23-of-52 including 9-of-20 from three and 3-of-4 from the line. They tallied 19 rebounds - 12 defensive, seven offensive with 16 assists (Bryce Achenbach - 8) 18 steals and two blocks.
