The Woodward-Granger (7-11, 5-13) girls’ basketball team snapped their two game losing streak with an impressive 41-33 win versus West Central Conference foe, the AC/GC Chargers (4-17, 3-13).

At home on senior night, the Hawks opened up the contest with the Chargers with back-and-forth baskets and the home team edging out their guests 13-11.

The Hawks increased their lead by one point after the second with another hard fought quarter at 9-8.

In the third quarter, the Hawks’ offense found it difficult to create shots finishing with just five points, but the defense held the Chargers to just four. The final eight minutes saw the Hawks pull away with 14 points to the Chargers 10.

The win closed out the Hawks’ regular season on a positive note. On Feb. 11, the team will host the class 2A region 4 first round matchup versus the South Hamilton Hawks. Game is slated for 7 pm.
