Did You Know… what intersection is shown, in this Perry photo from 1941? Shown is the east side of 2nd Street and Warford intersection. Lots of traffic in those days. The corner building on the right would be the Ray B. Smith Drug store that became Mau’s Drug in 1950, then became Coopers Pharmacy in 1968. The building to the left, on the northeast corner, would be the Perry State Bank, this building was replaced with their new bank building in 1976. Most stores had awnings in those days, I remember working at Stern & Fields Mens store in the late 50s. Each day after school, I rolled our awning up and swept our sidewalk.
