Did You Know… the history of this building and its present location? This was the first Webster School, also known as the Third Ward School.

This school, built in 1893, ran until 1914 when it was replaced by the second Webster School. In 1920 the building was converted into apartments.

I drove past the building on the corner of Fifth and North recently and saw work being done. Being snoopy, I stopped and was told a new roof was in progress. It looks to me like someone is helping the last of Perry’s early schools live on.
