Did You Know… There was a time you shopped at either the “Big” Dime store or the “Little” Dime store? I grew up in a time when we had the large Woolworths, on the corner of First and Willis.

The smaller Ben Franklin’s was located where Casa De Oro is today. People got the names confused, so it became the Big or Little Dime Store.

They were smart, they did not carry all the same items. Some candy carried by one, was not sold at the other. When shopping you visited both stores to find the best deals. When I was young, I bought my ten cent basla wood toy air planes at Woolworths because I felt they had the best brand.
