Sarah Peel, 80, of Perry died on Tuesday, Jan. 21 at the Dallas County Hospital in Perry.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 25 at 10 a.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home in Perry. Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 24 from 5-7 p.m. with an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m. at Carris Family Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry. Memorials may be given to family and may be left at the Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent at www.carrisfuneralhome.com.
Sarah Elizabeth Peel was born on March 23, 1933, at Alderson, Okla., to Arthur Loyd and Pansy Oeva (Merideth) Keith.
She graduated from Rainier High School at Rainier, Ore., in 1951.
She was united in marriage to Lawrence Edward Peel on July 21, 1956, at Maywood, Calif.
Sarah worked her entire life as an accountant, with her last place of employment being the Hotel Pattee. She retired in 2001.
Sarah was a member of the Southern Baptist Church, and her grandfather was an ordained Baptist minister.
She enjoyed reading, was an avid genealogist and thoroughly enjoyed travelling to cemeteries and taking pictures of family monuments. In the spring and summer you could find her outside in the yard, working in her flower garden.
She was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star, was a past Worthy Matron of the LaPaz Chapter in Downey, Calif., past Worthy Matron twice of the Perry Chapter and was the Grand Representative for Connecticut in Iowa.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Pansy Keith; a great granddaughter, Bethany Marie Peel; and a brother, William Riley Keith.
Survivors include her husband, Lawrence Ed Peel, of Perry; children, Danny Robert Peel of Perry, LaWanda Jean Nepstad of Urbandale, Craig Lavern (Dawn) Peel of Missouri; Clarence Wayne (Jacquelyn) Peel of Perry; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and two nephews, Terry and Kenneth Keith.
