Patricia Pohl, 76, of Perry, formerly Mrs Jimmy Gordon of Humboldt, died on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Patricia JoAn Pohl, the eldest of nine children, was born on March 19, 1937, at Yale to Lester Edward and Alice Ruth (Truax) Pohl.

At a young age her family moved to Cabool, Mo., and then moved back to the Perry area. She graduated from Perry Community High School.

During high school,Patricia worked in the cafeteria. When the school day was done, she would walk downtown to work as a waitress at Fitzsimmon’s Cafe to help her family out. Patricia worked at Globe Union in Fort Dodge for several years and helped farm. She had a business known as the Flying Crochet Hooks, and she would sell her items at craft fairs.

Most of her life she helped to take care of others, starting with her siblings, children and then grandchildren.

Patricia loved making crafts, crocheting and doing leather tooling. She was a fan of NASCAR. She also collected Roy Rogers memorabilia. She loved to travel with family.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Alice Pohl, and brothers, Loyal and Marvin Pohl.

Survivors include her children, Christine Gordon of Perry, Darlene (Ron) Anderson of Dakota City, Daniel (Diane) Gordon of Humboldt, Kelly (Dawn) Gordon of Laurens; grandchildren, Ruth Gordon, Dawn Blomker, David and Josie Gordon and Anthony and Michelle Gordon; great grandchildren, Willow and Tegan Kern, Dean Gordon and Justin Ash; sisters, Lesta, Deloris and Nancy; and brothers, Glen, Richard and James Pohl.
