Larry Lee Purcell, 77, of Gold Canyon, Ariz., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 22.

He was born Dec. 9, 1935 in Scranton, Iowa to the late Reva Purcell Thornburg and the late Lawrence Purcell.

Larry was a compassionate man who loved his family dearly.

He was employed for many years at the Perry Daily Chief and also opened his own photography studio.

He touched many lives with his special talent.

Larry was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Perry.

He is survived by his wife Sharon after 58 years of marriage. He is also survived by his sons Bret and Darin, grandchildren Carson, Blayne, Ian and William.

He is additionally survived by his sisters, Ardith Blazanin and Sharon Elliott, their families and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother Harold Purcell and sister Helen Loftus.

Larry’s wishes were to donate his body for Parkinson’s research at the University of Arizona Medical School. Services will be held in approximately two years with a graveside memorial at Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry.
