Juli Huyck, 70, of West Des Moines and formerly of Perry, died on Saturday, Dec. 28 at her home in West Des Moines. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, Dec. 31 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Church in Waukee.
Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 30 from 4-7 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. at Carris Family Funeral Home in Perry. Burial will be in the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter.

Mary Juliann Huyck was born on Nov. 19, 1943, in Council Bluffs to John J. and Jacqueline J. (Tierney) Wanning. Juli graduated from St. Francis Xavier High School in Council Bluffs and she continued her education at the Mercy School of Nursing/Creighton University.
She was united in marriage to James Huyck in Council Bluffs and was the proud mother of five children: Elizabeth, Richard, Amy, Johanna and Sarah.
Juli worked as a Registered Nurse for 50 years for various doctors and health care facilities, including two long-time doctors, Dr. Steven Humphrey and Sue Donahue D.O.
Juli was a long-time member of St. Patrick’s Church in Perry and, more recently, St. Boniface Church in Waukee. She loved being with and spending time with her family, grandchildren, and her dog, Duffy.
Preceding Juli in death were her grandparents, Jack and Florence Tierney, parents, John and Jacqueline Wanning, and a brother, Phillip Wanning.
Survivors include her husband, James Huyck, her children, Elizabeth "Biddy" (Thomas) Lowe, Richard (Jenifer) Huyck, Amy (David) Lounsberry, Johanna (Paul) Sinnett and Sarah (Roger) Bailey, nine grandchildren: Andy and Maggie Lowe, Katie and Ann Huyck, Evan, Cece and Will Lounsberry, Luke Sinnett and Molly Bailey, a sister, Jane Carmody, four brothers, Matthew, Mark, Jeff and John Wanning, aunts, Joyce Gorman, Mary Louise Tierney, the Waldmans and many nieces and nephews.
