Committal services were held Feb. 21 at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery for Cinda (Davis) Mathis, of La Feria, Texas, who passed away Feb. 17 at Sunshine Haven in Olmito, Texas.
Cinda was born Oct. 8, 1949, in Perry to Merlin and Nellie Davis.
She graduated from Perry High School in 1967. She then attended Marquette University, graduating in 1969.
Cinda worked for many years as a medical technologist. She later worked at Cerner Corporation of Kansas City, from which she retired.
Cinda was united in marriage on March 8, 1988, to Kent Mathis.
South Texas has been their home for the last six years.
Cinda loved traveling, cooking and craft fairs.
Cinda is survived by her mother, Nellie Davis of Perry; husband, Kent Mathis of La Feria, Texas; daughters, Terri (Brent) Soll of Harlan, Danielle (Bobby) Michaels of Kansas City, Mo., and DeAnn (JC) Rich of Kansas City, Mo.; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brother, Keith (Denise) Davis of Ankeny; and sister, Lila Robb of Bouton.
Preceding her in death was her father, Merlin Davis, on March 31, 2013.
