Private family graveside services were held at Violet Hill Cemetery for Keith Crum who passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017 at his home under the care of his family and HCI Hospice Care. Condolences to the family may be sent to Murdock Funeral Home, Perry, Iowa.


Keith Francis Crum was born on July 20, 1938 in Perry, Iowa the son of Floyd and Amy B. (Morgan) Crum. He grew up and attended school in Perry, graduating from Perry High School in the class of 1956. Keith served his country in the United States Air Force from Feb. 7, 1957 until his honorable discharge on Feb. 6, 1961. He was employed at John Deere Manufacturing Company as a welder, painter and other numerous jobs at the plant, until his retirement. Keith spent nearly his whole life in Perry and enjoyed his memberships in the V-8 Club, Doodle Bug Club and the Two Cylinder Club. He enjoyed spending time with his wife of 21 years, Ginger (Potter) Crum and their families.


Survivors include his wife Ginger Crum of Perry, Iowa; son Derek Crum of Colfax, Iowa and step-son Harry (Happy) Ellett III of Perry, Iowa; daughter Darci (Jerry) McMains of Madrid, Iowa and step-daughter Cindy Hoffman of Rochester, Minn.; five grandchildren Emily Lacina, Angela McMains, Tasha Booth, Skye Ellett, Jeremiah Ellett and two great grandchildren Layla and Lincoln Booth. Preceding Keith in death were his parents, one daughter Susan Crum and one brother Carl Crum.
