Matthew John Davis, 51, of Perry, Iowa was born in Farmington, Mich. to David and Susi (Kelley) Davis on Feb. 23, 1966 and went home to the Lord, April 25, 2017 at his home in Perry.

A memorial gathering for Matthew Davis, 51, of Perry was held Friday, April 28 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church Fellowship Hall in Perry.

Matthew graduated from St. Agatha High School in Redford, Mich. in 1984. He met the love of his life, Kristie Mitchell in 1996. They were married June 3, 2000 in Michigan and resided in Redford where they had two children, Eoin Donovan, 2001, and Lucais Declan, 2004. In 2006, they moved to Perry, Iowa to be closer to Kristie’s family. However, he continued his love of the Detroit Red Wings and Tigers, and The Ohio State Buckeyes. In 2007, he became an independent IT consultant until the end of his career. Matthew loved nothing more than enjoying life with his wife and two sons. He took great delight in baking with his Lucais, watching both boys’ concerts and sporting events, and spending evenings with Kristie watching superhero shows.

Survivors include his wife, Kristie; two sons, Eoin and Lucais of Perry; his father, David (Sue) Davis of Northville, Mich.; one brother, Jerry Davis, and two sisters, Theresa Reise and Donna Bell, all of Mich.; in-laws, Ron and Kathy Mitchell, brother-in-law, Tim Mitchell and sister-in-law, Tiffany Mitchell, and brothers-in-law Greg Mitchell, all of Iowa, and Patrick Mitchell of Mo. Also survived by his large Irish family in Michigan.

Matthew is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Susi, and brother, Luke Davis.

A memorial has been established in Matthew’s name and may be sent to Murdock Funeral Home.
