Perry Fine Arts will be sponsoring The Three Amigos KC Mariachi Band in a program of Latin music on Sunday, Dec.8 at 2 p.m. in Perry High School’s Performing Arts Center, 1200 18th St. in Perry.

The Three Amigos, hailing from Kansas City, Mo., perform popular Mariachi tunes as well as music from South and Central America, Cuba and the Caribbean. The Three Amigos are composed of Robert Scagliotti, Tony Swisher and Miguel "El Mambo" DeLeon.

Scagliotti performs on mandolin & guitar. He is the founder and leader of the Three Amigos and also has experience as a double bass player with the KC Philharmonic, St. Joseph Symphony, KC Lyric Opera and has been a leader of various groups playing Jazz, Bluegrass, Caribbean and Dixieland.

Swisher, on trumpet, has performed with various Jazz, Jazz Rock R&B bands. He has been an active free-lance musician and conducts several home school ensembles.

DeLeon, the group’s vocalist, began his calling in Latin music in the early 1970s and helped to introduce Salsa and Latin Jazz to the Midwest in the 1980s, earning with many Latin legends including: Orchestra Charambo, The Fania All Stars, Larry Harlow, Willie Colon, Tipica 73, Los Kimbos, Ray Barreto, and Roberto Roena y Su Apollo Sound.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Bock Family Foundation. Fine Arts concerts are free (donations accepted) and open to all. The Performing Arts Center is handicapped accessible.
