A $250 gift from the Perry Historic Preservation Commission was presented Friday to Brian Eiteman, assistant chief of the Perry Volunteer Fire Department and owner of the Perry Fire Museum, which abuts his business, Firehouse Ice Cream, in Downtown Perry. Funds for the gift were raised through the sales of the Perry Historic Preservation Commission’s 2014 calendars, which are still available at Martin Uphoslstery and Elegans Beauty Salon. Eiteman, who is assisted by his family in preparing the museum for its early 2014 opening, said the money would be used to enhance the exhibition space. The Perry Historic Preservation Commission also recently presented Eiteman with a plaque in recognition of his building’s status on the National Historic Register.
