The Perry High School Band has begin its annual orange,grapefruit and apple sale. Orders will be taken until Wednesday, Dec. 4, and the fruit will be delivered to your home or office beginning Tuesday, Dec. 17. Funds raised from this year’s sale will be used for equipment, instruments, uniforms, student needs and band travel expenses. The Perry Human Society and Orscheln Farm and Home’s Fury Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Orscheln Farm and Home. Complement your Black Friday holiday shopping with Fury Friday’s specially reduced adoption fees. Some pets will be circulating through the aisles of Orscheln’s to cheer shoppers. Free movie screening, 10 a.m., New Day Assembly of God, 2313 1st Ave., Perry. The movie "Unstopped," starring Kirk Cameron, is a non-fiction film asking where God is in the midst of tragedy and suffering. The public is invited to attend.

Wednesday fellowship program, 11:15 a.m., McCreary Community Building. Perry Water Department Superintendent Hank Smith will give a presentation on the city water system. Noon dinner to follow for $5. You do not need to be a member of the McCreary Center to attend.

Panora Area After 5 Club dinner meeting, 7 p.m., Cabbage Rose Tea Room in Guthrie Center. The theme will be "Preparing for the Holidays," with Sharon Patton from Belmond, Iowa, describing how her bucket was full but emptying it brought her peace. Sue Forcht from Stuart Flowers and Gifts will show the beauty of Christmas table settings with floral arrangements and offer decorating ideas for the holiday season. Kathy Hopkins from Earlham will sing. All women and guests invited to attend the dinner and meeting. Walk-ins always welcome, but reservations are appreciated and should be made by Dec. 5. Children’s movie and snack, 3:45 p.m., Community Room of the Perry Public Library. Free screening of "Tom and Jerry: A Nutcracker Tale." In an empty opera house, Jerry wishes for a chance to perform and magically his dream comes true. This movie is not rated and 49 minutes in length. Children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult. A free snack will be provided.

Perry Piecemaker Quilt Guild’s Christmas party, 6:30 p.m., Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church. This will be potluck followed by quilting entertainment and fun. Quilting visitors are cordially invited. Members should bring Christmas block.
