Blue shirts could be spotted all throughout Perry on the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 12.
The shirts were worn by Perry High School students as they worked around town for the annual Volunteer Day during homecoming week.
Students could be seen painting the exterior of the Perry Elks Lodge, cleaning up brush outside of Lou’s Diner, washing windows at the Willis campus of Perry Lutheran Homes, moving shelving at Ben’s Five and Dime, cleaning up trash in Pattee Park and more.
The homecoming festivities continued on Wednesday with the Perry Chamber of Commerce sponsored parade.
A grill out followed the parade at Raccoon Valley Bank, sponsored by Hy-Vee and Tyson.
Those at the grill out could also get a football poster signed by the players, along with Bluejay apparel at the Booster Club pop-up shop in front of the bank.
The homecoming king and queen will be crowned during a ceremony at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 13 in the high school gym, followed by a bonfire across the street at the athletic complex.
The Bluejays will take on the North Polk Comets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 14 at Dewey Field.
Keep watching the Perry Chief website for more homecoming photos.
