The South Dakota woman who allegedly struck a tree while driving in Woodward in March, resulting in the death of a Johnston woman, has been charged with homicide by vehicle, according to online court records.

Rebecca Louise Luloff, 60, of Sioux Falls, S.D., is also charged with serious injury by vehicle and operating while under the influence.

The incident occurred on March 10 at Iowa Highway 210 and Main Street in Woodward, when a Chevrolet Monte Carlo, driven by Luloff, was traveling westbound on Iowa 210 and failed to stop at a stop sign at a T intersection and struck a tree. One of the passengers in the vehicle, Debora West, of Des Moines, was transported to the hospital by ambulance with Luloff.

The other passenger, Sheryl Kock, of Johnston, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to court documents, Luloff pleaded not guilty during a court appearance earlier this week. No trial date has been set.
