1. Flag Day program
7 p.m. Thursday, June 14 at Josh Davis Memorial Plaza.
Perry Elks Lodge 407 will host a Flag Day program on June 14. Members of Perry Boy Scout Troop 127 will present the flag. Veteran Rabi Decker will be the guest speaker. Elks members will also have a table from 4-6:30 p.m. during the farmers market to sell baked goods and American flags.
2. Dallas County Fair Rodeo
7:30 p.m. Friday, June 15 and Saturday, June 16 at Dallas County Fairgrounds.
The Dallas County Fair Rodeo will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at the Dallas County Fairgrounds in Adel. Admission is $10 for adults and $7 for youth ages 6-12. There will be free live music afterwards each night. The Miss Rodeo Dallas County Coronation will be held at 6:45 p.m. on Friday night.
3. Bicycle and Unclaimed Property Sale
8 - 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16 at Perry Public Safety Building parking lot, 908 Willis Ave.
This sale will include unclaimed bicycles and property as well as outdated or unused city inventory and equipment. Prices will be marked on all items. Cash only. All sales are final. Anyone who believes that an item on this list belongs to them must bring proper identification and statement of where the property was lost, original serial numbers or receipts to the Perry Police Department, 908 Willis Ave., prior to 4 p.m. on June 14. 4. Scout Grocery Drive Up
11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 16 in Perry Hy-Vee parking lot.
Boy Scout Troop 127 will hold a Scout Grocery Drive Up on Saturday. Scouts will be loading groceries in the Perry Hy-Vee parking lot from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donations are appreciated.
5. Stargazing with Chris Atkins
9 p.m. Saturday, June 16 at Voas Nature Center.
Don’t miss this adult summer reading event at the Voas Nature Center. Chris Atkins of Dallas County Conservation will lead the program. Participants will learn about constellations, engage in some naked eye stargazing and enjoy S’mores. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and meet at Voas.
