Join us for a journey through 140 years of history on Perry’s Fire Department with Brian Eiteman. The history presentation will be held from 2-3 p.m. on Saturday, April 21 at the Carnegie Library Museum.

Eiteman will share stories and historic photos from his new book on the history of firefighting, Perry’s old fire station and the men and women who have served as firefighters here in Perry.

This free event will include a guided tour through the Iowa Fire Museum by Eiteman after his talk. Autographed copies of Eiteman’s book will also be available for purchase ($20 for softcover, $27 for hardcover), and the proceeds will support Perry’s Iowa Fire Museum.

Eiteman is a longtime Perry resident who joined Perry’s fire department in 1992 and serves as the Assistant Fire Chief. He is also the department’s historian and the curator of the Iowa Fire Museum.
