In efforts to continue promoting local businesses in Perry, the Chamber of Commerce has invested in a new Dec. program to bring eyes to specific storefronts: Elf on a Shelf. Kicking off Dec. 1, the program previously enlisted businesses involved in the 2017 Chamber Membership via email Nov. 22 and those interested will be featured on the Chamber’s Facebook page.

”The businesses would take pictures of inside the business, [feature] any promotions going on in December, any sales going on and try to carry force the Small Business Saturday through the whole month of December, or basically trying to keep that shop-theme not for one day, but through the month of December,” said Chamber Member, Emily Leslie.

According to Leslie, once enlisted, a Chamber member will stop by a business, take an employee photo with an elf featured, and then highlight happenings occurring during the holiday’s.

“It will be first come first serve, so we’re excited to see whose excited to get people into their door,” Leslie said.

Businesses will begin to be featured on the Chamber’s Facebook page starting in December.
