We are excited to announce that senior Breanna Penenger has been accepted to the 2017 Iowa All-State Chorus as a Soprano I. This is Breanna’s third year in the All-State Chorus.

Breanna Penenger participates in Concert Choir and Select Choir at PHS, where she was also the Drum Major for the Blue Brigade Marching Band this fall. She plays the flute and piccolo in Concert Band, and the saxophone in Jazz Band.

Breanna starred as Peter Pan in the 2017 PHS musical Peter Pan, and received an Iowa High School Musical Theatre Award for Outstanding Performance in a Leading Role. She was also a Triple Threat Nominee and competed at the IHSMTA Showcase in June.

Breanna was selected for the 2017 ISU Honor Choir last February, and completed her audition for this year’s choir this past Monday. Breanna has received a Division I rating for Vocal Solos at IHSMA State Solo & Ensemble Festival the past three years.

She has participated in numerous honor bands and choirs, and places high each year with flute and piccolo solos at Perry Band Olympics. Breanna plans to study music education next year. Her parents are Brian and Michelle Penenger of Perry.
